Later, taught counseling and educational courses at Sacramento State College for 21 years.

After the war, superintendent of Klock Produce in Seattle. Returned to cooperative extension in 1955 in Ephrata. Promoted to chair of the Franklin County Extension Office in Pasco in 1959. Sent to Turkey in 1967 to educate Turkish farmers on new wheat varieties and management practices. Retired in 1976.
